CHISEL only fund very low level aids and adaptations, such as new taps and handrails. If you need more than this, you must get an assessment from an occupational therapist that you need an aid or adaptation, then let us know and we can help you apply to the local authority who carry out the work themselves. CHISEL does need to know in advance about your plans for adaptations.
If you have a disability and need help with contacting an occupational therapist, please contact the Operations Manager. You do not need to be registered disabled, but only in need of an adaptation that could help you manage better in your home.
If your accommodation becomes unsuitable because you or a member of your family develops a disability, we can discuss the possibility of a transfer, e.g. to a lower floor. Contact the Operations Manager, who will be pleased to help.
