How do I pay rent?

Updates to DWP and HB: if you are a CHISEL tenant claiming benefit, remember that you have to inform Housing Benefit or Universal Credit of the rent changes, and any changes to service charges, in April of each year. Every UC claimant will receive a notification at the beginning of April, via their to-do list, reminding them to report any change to their rent.

Paying Rent

Rents are calculated on a weekly basis but you can pay your rent weekly, fortnightly or monthly (read more information about how we calculate your rent).

Pay your rent online

You can pay your rent online through the ALLPAY* secure payment gateway using your credit or debit card. In order to do this you need your ALLPAY swipe card. For more information about this service read some ALLPAY FAQs.

ALLPAY Mobile App: you can now use an app on your mobile phone or tablet. Go to www.allpay.net/app for how to set yourself up.

*We have an arrangement with ALLPAY, a company which specialises in collecting rents and other regular payments. There is no charge to the tenant and your payments can be as large or as small as you choose, as long as the rent is paid in full each week. Every tenant is issued with a plastic swipe card. If you lose your swipe card please contact the rent team.

Other Ways to Pay Your Rent

In Shops and Post Offices

You can pay using your ALLPAY card in any shop or Post Office that display the PayPoint sign

Direct Debit

You can also pay your rent by direct debit - this means your rent will automatically be deducted from your account each month.  Please phone the Rent Officer or the Operations Manager who will arrange this.  It can be set up over the phone.  We will agree with you the best day for the payments to be taken from your account.  When your rent changes in April, we will give you notice of the new amount and adjust the direct debit without you having to do anything.  We will give you 14 days notice of any changes.

If you would like to pay by direct debit please call the rent team on 020 8692 5258 and have your bank account details to hand.

Telephone

You can pay your rent by card over the phone - please call the the rent team on 020 8692 5258 and have your card to hand.
