CHISEL's aims

Management co-operatives

• To support the development of tenant management co-ops
• To develop co-ops to manage CHISEL owned housing.
• To support CHISEL management co-ops by providing advice, information and education services.
• To support CHISEL management co-ops by providing financial security for their activities and, where appropriate, financial support.
• To encourage CHISEL management co-ops to develop and improve their services to tenants.

Ownership co-operatives

• To assist management co-ops to register with the Housing Corporation.
• To transfer ownership of CHISEL's properties to former CHISEL management co-ops that succeed in becoming registered.
• To support ownership co-ops by providing advice, information and educational services.
• To support CHISEL ownership co-ops by providing financial security for their activities and, where appropriate, financial support.
• To provide management and development services to ownership co-ops.

Tenant participation

• To provide the opportunity for CHISEL tenants to enjoy a high level of participation in CHISEL's activities, strategic development and decision-making processes either through membership of a co-op or as individuals.
