General Information

Allocations policy
CHISEL
has an allocations policy, which all its managing agents, management co-ops and service agent follow. The policy details CHISEL's practice and procedures on selecting tenants and allocating our properties. If you wish to read it, please contact the Education & Community Development Manager on 020 8692 5258.

Equal opportunities
CHISEL recognises that some groups and individuals experience disadvantages and discrimination and is working to redress discrimination based on gender, sexuality, race, national origin, culture, disability, age, health status, political beliefs (except where such beliefs are based on discriminatory practices) and responsibility for dependants.

We will ask you for information at the time you apply for housing and this is used solely for monitoring purposes to ensure we fulfil our commitment to equal opportunities.

How Chisel is run
CHISEL is run by a Management Committee that makes the day-to-day decisions. If you want to write to the Chair of CHISEL Management Committee, please forward your letter to CHISEL Ltd at 188a Brockley Road, London SE4 2RN.

The Management Committee meets six times a year on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm. Each year in September an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held so that the Management Committee has the opportunity to report to all the tenants and members on the progress in the previous year and to present the accounts.

The Management Committee delegates areas of work to sub-committees as detailed below:

All CHISEL staff, Management Co-op, Managing Agent and Service Providers have to report regularly to CHISEL Management Committee. These reports detail the work they have been doing and the service they are providing to tenants.
