The CHISEL TENANT SOUNDING BOARD (CTSB) represents the voice of CHISEL Tenants. It is an open forum of tenants that meets several times a year and discusses issues of concern to tenants. Following each meeting, the CTSB's views are fed back to CHISEL's Board of Management. All tenants are welcome to attend as many or as few CTSB meetings as they wish.

CHISEL is committed to listening to the views of its tenants and to involving them as much as possible in the work of the Association. We support groups of tenants to take on management and maintenance tasks at their schemes by working together as local co-ops. We also encourage individual tenants to carry out maintenance of their own homes under our Tenant Maintainers Scheme. In addition, we encourage interested tenants to join our Board of Management and reserve a number of places on the Board specifically for Tenant Board Members.

Because we know that many tenants lead busy lives and can only occasionally get involved in our work, we have set up the CHISEL Tenants Sounding Board (CTSB). The CTSB is an open forum of tenants that meets several times a year and discusses issues of concern to tenants. Following each meeting, the CTSB's views are fed back to CHISEL's Board of Management. All tenants are welcome to attend as many or as few CTSB meetings as they wish.

The CTSB itself decides what issues it wants to discuss at its meetings, and CHISEL's staff may suggest other topics. The Agenda for each meeting is sent to tenants before each meeting. The meetings are serviced and minuted by CHISEL's Co-ops and Tenants Officer. Tenants who are unable to get to a meeting but are still interested in the subject(s) being discussed are invited to send in their views and comments to the Co-ops & Tenants Officer before the meeting, who will then make sure that these views are reported to the meeting.

To ensure that all tenants can attend, tenants can claim travelling and child minding expenses. The meetings usually take place in the evening and finish by 9PM. Refreshments are provided.

The full Terms of Reference of the CTSB are available on our website. If you would like more information please contact the Co-ops & Tenants Officer ~ tel 020 8692 5258 (Tuesday and Thursday) or email cto@chisel.org.uk .
